Shakira Will Headline ‘Todo Mundo No Rio’ in Copacabana

Singer Shakira will be the main attraction of the “Todo mundo no Rio” event, scheduled for the night of May 2 on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, according to information released by columnist Lauro Jardim and confirmed by g1. The performance is set to start at 9:45 p.m. and is part of the programming for Rio’s traditional street party.

The Colombian artist signed a contract on Tuesday (10) with the producer Bonus Track, led by Luiz Oscar Niemeyer, to perform on the city’s most famous boardwalk. The show will be broadcast live by TV Globo and is sponsored by the Corona brand, with the opening act yet to be defined.

Shakira returns to Brazil just weeks after starting her new world tour, which began at Estádio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro. The tour promotes the album “Las mujeres ya no lloran” (approximately translated as “Women No Longer Cry”), and her visit to the country marked her first major show in Brazil in eight years.

On social media, anticipation for Shakira’s participation in “Todo mundo no Rio” had been growing since the beginning of the year, with fans and music sites raising the possibility of her performance. At one point, the show was even removed from the Songkick website, fueling speculation before the official confirmation.
