The Majesty of the 2025 Rose Parade – The Brasilians

The traditional beauty of its floats (all sponsored) and the joy, perfection, and elegance of the 20 participating bands captivated the more than 800,000 spectators who gathered along the 5 miles (8 kilometers) of Colorado Boulevard, the route of the Rose Parade.

At exactly 8:00 AM, the 136th edition of the prestigious Rose Parade began just a few meters from the Mansion, with performances by singers Kiesza and Aloe Blacc, who started on the steps of the grandstands near the Honda float, the main sponsor of the Parade. The singers gave a spectacular performance, and from there, the march began with the United States Armed Forces planes signaling the start.

More of the Same

This year’s theme was “The Best Days.” Once again, most of the 40 floats focused on “fun” creations featuring animals, empowering them and making them seem absolutely essential for having a fun day. Every year, regardless of the theme, the floats are designed with animals, where the focus is given to the proposed theme.

It’s not that the animals are trivial, but not all themes center around them. The beauty of the floats is definitely undeniable, as they involve many hours of wonderful work in which hundreds of volunteers are involved, but in this world, there are more fun things that could be captured in these floats to send a more real message to the millions of viewers who rise every January 1st around the world to watch the Rose Parade.

The Bands… Period!

Now, regarding the musical bands, representing different high schools across the United States and some guests from other countries, which in their genre are the best, in 2025, they stood out and stole the show from the floats, some almost identical to those from 2024.

The American bands, impeccable in their uniforms and perfectly executing their musical notes and now dance moves, received applause from the audience.

In 2025, from Latin America, there was a band from Panama, which fulfilled its role by showcasing its traditional costumes and folk music from its country. A band from Puebla also participated, which, in its eagerness to showcase traditional costumes, fell into the grotesque. The group was small, but previous Mexican representations were always of exceptional quality in every aspect.

This year’s queen was Lindsay Charles, a beautiful girl who led a court of six elegantly dressed girls in green. The award-winning tennis player Billie Jean King, who led the white sport in the 80s, was the grand marshal of the 136th edition of the Rose Parade.

Who Won the Rose Parade

The San Diego Zoo float won the top awards at the Tournament of Roses Parade and for the second consecutive year won the “Raffle Trophy” for its work “Friendship Across the Land.” Its presentation was impeccable, with the Panda Bears as the main figures. That was, or almost was, the 136th edition of the grand Rose Parade.
