Brazilian Dynasty in the World Cup – The Brasilians

Brazilian Dynasty in the World Cup

In less than four months – on June 14, to be precise – the 21st FIFA World Cup will kick off at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, with the hosts facing Saudi Arabia.

This gives us plenty of time to enjoy a countdown. Between now and the start of the World Cup, we will take a closer look at a different statistic from the tournament’s history each day.

96 is the number of Brazilian players who can call themselves world champions. Among the many players who celebrated one of A Seleção’s five World Cup victories is Cafu, who captained the team to the title in 2002. The former defender is also the Brazilian player with the most World Cup matches, with 20 games to his name, ahead of fellow world champions Ronaldo (19 games), Cláudio Taffarel, and the 1994 captain in the USA, Dunga (both with 18).
