Brazilian Teen Opens Bridal Week at New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week is one of the most iconic events filled with celebrities that the city has to offer. Hundreds of models, designers, and industry moguls flock to NYFW to see what Fall 2017 will bring. And for the Bridal Week at NYFW, many potential brides pay close attention to the silhouettes, embroidery, and accessories that will transform bridal fashion this year.

However, for a Brazilian designer, Pó de Arroz, this particular bridal show was not just for brides. In partnership with the NGO Love Together Brazil and fashion photographer Fernanda Calfat, the bridal designer created a charity show in support of

providing clean and safe drinking water for underprivileged Brazilian children.

Emilia Pedersen, a teenage model, singer, actress, and Junior Ambassador of Love Together Brazil, was chosen as the “Godmother” of the night. With this honor, Emilia opened and closed the event, impressing the audience with her grace and beauty. “I feel like a princess,” says Emilia, “these designs are so romantic and delicate, they are truly unique.”

Pó de Arroz is a Brazilian bridal designer who creates unique, handmade dresses; the designer makes only one of each model. She focuses on delicate laces, carefully positioned embroidery, romantic silhouettes, and classic finishes. The designer was impressed by Emilia’s youthful glow and her timeless ability to carry the runway and the dresses.

Emilia is a dedicated ambassador for Love Together Brazil, where she has organized successful fundraising events and charity campaigns for the NGO. Geralda Sarraf, founder of Love Together Brazil, is proud to have Emilia as the face of the bridal event. “Emilia is a beautiful girl inside and out, and she looks stunning in Pó de Arroz dresses. I am so proud to see her continue to shine.”

Emilia, a native of Denmark with Brazilian roots, has been involved with Love Together Brazil for a long time. She has organized many fundraising events and charity actions, in which she has been immensely successful in raising donations. However, Emilia is loved by the Love Together team for bringing the community together through action. The teenager comments: “Being an ambassador for Love Together has shown me that it is important for all of us to come together as one, to make a difference on a large scale and spread the power of love and generosity.”
