A total of 54,000 humanitarian aid kits have been allocated by the Ministry of National Integration to families affected by flooding in the municipalities of Calçoene and Macapá, in the state of Amapá.
The federal investment of R$ 1 million ensured approximately 51,000 gallons of drinking water, 700 food baskets, 900 mattresses, 850 kits with cleaning and hygiene materials, as well as products for child and elderly assistance.
The capital, Macapá, received federal emergency recognition in early March due to erosion along the banks of the Araguari River, a situation that has affected communities in the Bailique district.
In the municipality of Calçoene, which was hit by heavy rains and flooding, the emergency situation was recognized on March 30. Request for resources.
To access the aid, states and/or municipalities must present a Detailed Response Plan (PDR) or a Work Plan for the reconstruction of damaged areas.
Based on these documents, the Ministry of National Integration defines the support actions that will be made available. In addition to materials, municipalities can request financial or logistical resources for emergency assistance to the population.
