In the accumulated month, the Brazilian trade balance exceeded US$ 3.4 billion. In the third week of February, the trade balance recorded a surplus of US$ 808 million. Thus, the performance of the Brazilian trade balance, which is the result of the difference between exports and imports, already totals US$ 3.434 billion, according to the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC).
In the month, the significant trade surplus results from a 20.4% increase in exports compared to the same period last year. Higher volumes in the sales of manufactured products (+62.7%), primary goods (+13.3%), and semi-manufactured goods (+4.5%) are among the reasons for the favorable performance in exports.
