The Natural and Majestic Beauty of Montana – The Brasilians

The Natural and Majestic Beauty of Montana

The state of Montana is unique. People can slow down and enjoy the grandeur of nature and the American West.

With only 1 million inhabitants spread over more than 38 million hectares (an area larger than Germany), this is one of the largest unexplored treasures of the United States, with stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife. Additionally, the combination of modern and traditional cultures makes the state the ideal place to learn about frontier history and authentic life in the country’s small towns.

Known as the “Crown of the Continent,” Glacier National Park, located in the northwest region of Montana, is one of the most unexplored ecosystems of the temperate climate. Along the more than 1,100 kilometers of hiking trails and the 80 kilometers of the Going-to-the-Sun Road, it is possible to spot grizzly and black bears, moose, bighorn sheep, cougars, and many other wild animals.

Yellowstone National Park has three vehicle entrances in the southern part of Montana and features the largest active volcano in the world. Geysers, hot springs, and other geothermal attractions are surrounded by mountains, rivers, canyons, and meadows, which host one of the last herds of wild bison in the U.S. and two species of wolves.

But impressive natural beauty can also be found outside the national parks. It is present throughout the state and rewards visitors who leave the more well-known destinations behind to explore 24 mountain ranges, millions of hectares of public land, wildlife reserves, alpine lakes, vast plains, natural hot springs, and great fishing spots. In the state of Montana, travelers can enjoy the natural environment during the day and relax in the hospitality of small, charming towns at night.

The state has some small but sophisticated towns that have attracted adventurers, artists, offices, musicians, and outdoor enthusiasts for decades, with their beautiful landscapes. Along the roads that traverse mountains and plains, there are small towns that have changed so little over time that they feel like a trip back in time for those who visit to participate in rodeos or festivals. However, whether in towns with 400 or 40,000 inhabitants (which is a large town by Montana standards!), visitors will surely find friendly people ready to introduce them to the good things in life, such as food, hospitality, and outdoor living in the region.

In ghost towns of the Old West, such as Virginia City, and rodeos like the Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede, the mining history and cowboy culture of Montana come to life. In addition, the seven Indigenous Nations and the diverse native communities scattered throughout the state preserve the history of a much older country, with public events such as reenactments held at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument.

The state of Montana is filled with natural wonders, charming small towns, friendly people, and a more peaceful life – a place full of experiences that cannot be found anywhere else.
