Campina Grande is located in Paraíba, nestled between mountains and valleys rich in biodiversity, with attractions that include folkloric tradition, history, and natural wealth. Here, you have the opportunity to participate in one of the largest popular festivals in the Northeast, the São João de Campina Grande, which lasts a month and features plenty of forró, handicrafts, and one of the region’s highlights, traditional foods. The event takes place in June and attracts over two million visitors annually.

The São João activities take place at Parque do Povo, a 42,000 m² venue that houses over 300 stalls with food and handicrafts, as well as attractions like the quadrilhas juninas (folkloric dance groups).
The Expresso do Forró departs from the old station of Campina Grande on a journey filled with excitement and forró, heading to the district of Galante, where you are welcomed with more forró and can ride a donkey or in carts to complete the fun.
Campina Grande is known as the land of sun-dried meat, preserved by a very old method in which the meat (usually beef or goat) is salted and dried, then placed in a dry and ventilated location. Contrary to what the name suggests, the process is completed in the shade.
Among other delicacies, you can try buchada de bode, an exotic dish made with the animal’s entrails (kidneys, liver, and viscera), which after boiling and washing are seasoned and cooked in bags made from the goat’s own stomach.
In the city, there are museums, theaters, fairs, parks, reservoirs, and many options for activities in nature. At the Museu de Arte Popular da Paraíba, you can learn about Paraíba music, cordel literature, and the ceramic art of the Northeast. At Engenho Triunfo, you can observe the production of cachaça.
About 40 km from the city is the Archaeological Site of Pedra do Ingá, which holds a stone 24 meters long and 4 meters high (one of the itacoatiaras – painted stones, in the Tupi language), filled with rock paintings made by local indigenous people hundreds of years ago.
