That the Alagoas coastline is one of the favorite destinations for travelers is no surprise. The so-called Coral Coast, with its crystal-clear and warm waters, light sandy beaches, and natural pools, is on the wishlist of Brazilians and foreigners seeking sun and beach. And Maceió, the capital of the state, stands out as the gateway to this paradisiacal setting, housing one of the most famous urban waterfronts in the country.
In addition to the more well-known sandy stretches, such as Pajuçara, Jatiúca, and Ponta Verde, one neighborhood has been gaining attention for its natural attractions and services in the Alagoas capital: Ipioca. Located on the northern coast of Maceió, about 20 kilometers from the city center, the place lends its name to a beach with calm, clear waters, a tranquil sandy stretch, and beautiful scenery with coconut palms.
Ipioca is a seaside resort with 10 kilometers of coastal stretch. Among its main tourist attractions is the beach of the same name, famous for its natural pools and for being home to the start of the second largest coral reef in the world. It also features preserved historical attractions, such as the Church of Our Lady of Ó, built in 1795 and listed in 1982, and the former home of Brazil’s second president, Marshal Floriano Peixoto.
The place has been consolidating itself as an important tourist destination in Maceió, especially for those seeking tranquility, natural beauty, and a complete structure of accommodation and gastronomy services.
And one of the main contributors to this growth is the Ipioca Beach Complex.
