Thanks to a New Type of Visa, It’s Easier to Live in Some Countries – The Brasilians

Arranging life and starting anew abroad is a dream for many, and new visa programs and tax incentives are making this a bit more feasible. Portugal, Spain, and Costa Rica are some of the countries with already popular digital nomad visas. Now there are two more countries on the list.

The vibrant cities and glorious coastline of Turkey can be enjoyed with its new digital nomad visa, open to citizens of 36 countries, including the United States, Canada, France, and the United Kingdom, aged between 21 and 55 years. You need to prove an income of $3,000 per month or $36,000 per year.

The long-awaited digital nomad visa from Italy is also accepting applications. “Highly qualified” citizens from outside the European Union/European Economic Area may have the opportunity to live there for a year, provided they have their own health insurance, proof of a place to stay, and earn more than $30,000 per year. If interested, you need to schedule an in-person appointment at the Italian consulate in your country of residence.
Digital Nomad

  • A digital nomad is a person who lives a nomadic lifestyle and uses technology to work remotely outside their country of origin.
  • Digital nomad visas allow these individuals to live and work legally in another country.
  • These visas are available for students and workers, although costs and requirements tend to vary.
  • Many countries that offer them allow individuals to apply for themselves and also for dependents.
  • Although the digital nomad lifestyle allows you to have long vacations while working, it can be stressful and make it difficult to form lasting relationships.

In November 2022, 49 regions offered programs for temporary remote workers, including Spain, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Cyprus, Latvia, Albania, Saint Lucia, Grenada, Panama, Belize, Brazil, Ecuador, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Namibia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Indonesia-Bali, Italy, Colombia, and South Africa.
