Gisele Bündchen started to cry while telling a Florida police officer that she was trying to escape the paparazzi when she was stopped earlier this week.
The supermodel was pulled over while driving in Surfside, as shown in the body camera footage of the officer. When the officer asks her to roll down the window, she says, “But the paparazzi are right there.”
Gisele tells the officer that she was “just trying to get away from that guy.”
“I understand who you are,” the officer replies. “There’s nothing I can do about that.” The officer then tells her, “I’m going to give you a courtesy (warning and not a ticket) today.”
Gisele, who moved to Florida after her divorce from American football player Tom Brady, tells the officer that she feels like the guy is “stalking” her and begins to cry.
“Nothing protects me. I can’t do anything,” she says. “I just want to live my life!”
The officer explains that he cannot stop the paparazzi from “doing their job” and taking pictures of her and suggests that she file a report with the Miami Beach police, as the incident started there.
It is unclear whether Bündchen filed a complaint.
In any case, Florida does not have any laws preventing paparazzi from following her, unlike the state of California, for example, which has a law that restricts reckless driving by photographers.
