For the first time, Brazil has reached the mark of 250 megawatts of installed capacity in photovoltaic solar systems for micro and mini-generation, according to a study published by Absolar, the entity that represents this sector in the country. These results consider the distribution of solar energy to residential, commercial, and industrial consumers, in buildings and rural areas.
According to data released by Absolar, Brazil has 27,800 photovoltaic solar systems connected to the grid across the country. This represents over R$ 1.9 billion in investments over the past six years.
This type of energy generation converts solar radiation into energy, being a renewable and more sustainable way to produce electricity. According to the mapping developed by Absolar, most of the installed systems are in residences, followed by commerce and service providers, and to a lesser extent, rural, industrial, and public consumers, among others.
