Eight Trails with the Most Beautiful Views of Rio de Janeiro – The Brasilians

Eight Trails with the Most Beautiful Views of Rio de Janeiro

1- GÁVEA STONE TRAIL

A Pedra da Gávea is the largest seaside rock block in the world. Considered the most difficult trail in Rio de Janeiro, as the ascent is long, heavy, and tiring. It requires great physical preparation and willingness to climb. But it’s worth it for the stunning view!
2- TWO BROTHERS HILL TRAIL

This one is for contemplating Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. There you will understand why they say it has the shape of a heart.

3- URCA HILL TRAIL

Upon reaching the top of Morro da Urca, you have a breathtaking view of Botafogo Bay, Flamengo Park, Copacabana, Ipanema, Urca Beach, the Rio-Niterói Bridge, and the city center.

4- CORCOVADO HILL TRAIL

The view from the top of Corcovado Hill is breathtaking! From the summit, with a 360-degree view, you will see Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, Morro da Urca, Sugarloaf Mountain, the Gávea Hippodrome, Leblon and Ipanema beaches, Flamengo Park, Botafogo Bay, Maracanã, and several neighborhoods from the South, North, and Central Zones of the city.
5- BABILONIA HILL TRAIL

You can make several stops at viewpoints along the way, but the last viewpoint provides a beautiful view of the entire Botafogo and Flamengo bays. You can also see Christ the Redeemer in the background and Sugarloaf Mountain.

6- TELEGRAPH STONE TRAIL

During the journey of the Telegraph Stone Trail, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Wild Beaches, Pontal do Recreio, Grumari, and Restinga da Marambaia, which is an area managed by the Brazilian Navy. Its public beaches have restricted access due to being a military area.
7- ELEPHANT STONE TRAIL

You can glimpse the oceanfront of Niterói (Itacoatiara Beach, Itaipu Lagoon, and the islands Pai, Mãe, and Filha; and Itaipuaçu Beach).

8- BEAUTIFUL STONE TRAIL

The view from Pedra Bonita, in my opinion, is the most beautiful in Rio de Janeiro. Its immense rock, resembling a table, allows visitors to lie on the stone and have a 360-degree view of the Marvelous City.
WHAT TO BRING ON THE TRAILS?

2 liters of water and snacks (sandwich, cookies, cereal bars, fruits, etc.). During these trails, it is impossible to find someone selling anything;

ID or another form of identification;

Comfortable shoes with socks, and soles suitable for trails;

Cap or hat;

Sunblock; insect repellent; sunglasses;

Trash bag (Respect the environment, take your trash with you);
Camera;

First aid medications;

Warm clothing and a headlamp (if you are going for sunset).

NOTES

Always respect your limits! Consult your doctor before engaging in any physical activity. Avoid surprises during an adventure;

If going alone, inform your family or a close friend about the trail you will be taking. Preferably go with groups (there are many on Facebook);
We live in the best time for knowledge distribution. Use the web to research destinations and general tips for any adventure you are interested in undertaking;

If you do not feel safe, hire a specialized guide (especially if you are going to do the Gávea and Corcovado trails).
