Chris Barreto chooses Soho to launch her URBAN-ART Collection. The collection was inspired by the street graffiti art of New York City and the campaign was launched in collaboration with photographer Marcos Vasconcelos for the release of Fashion Magazine NY.
The collection features unique and unusual pieces, such as hand-painted t-shirts with Art Faces themes and others printed with colorful geometric designs.
Additionally, there are items like leather jackets, caps, jeans, and shorts hand-painted by the artist with abstract and urban motifs that she created especially for a young, modern, artistic, and urban unisex audience.
Chris Barreto is a Brazilian artist and fashion designer who has lived
in NYC for over 20 years.
Chris began her career in Rio de Janeiro and became internationally known in the 90s when she dressed singer Madonna for her show at Maracanã Stadium.
Chris then moved to NY, and her career firmly established itself in the artistic scene of the Big Apple, being invited to exhibit her “Art Clothes” in top museums such as the Guggenheim Museum and the American Museum of Natural History in NY.
Since then, Chris’s art has greatly expanded in partnership with art galleries and major decor stores
in the city, and in 2015 she launched her brand producing luxury rugs, cushions, and her clothing line, all featuring her original prints!
Among the numerous shows the artist holds annually, in 2017 she also exhibited her works in Miami, California, Paris, Austria, Germany, São Paulo, Goiás, and New York.
For 2018, Chris plans to create numerous partnerships bringing her art and vibe to many more people around the world!
