Julio Cesar: a Brazilian designer in the spotlight

Julio Cesar was born in the city of Mossoró, located in the Northeast region of Brazil, specifically in the State of Rio Grande do Norte.

From an early age, he developed an interest in the arts, something that has been a driving force in his evolution as an artist. Growing up, he cultivated a special attraction to music, books, and painting, not to mention a particular affinity for the regional folk art, which is very rich in the area where he was born.

Residing in the United States since 1993, the fashion designer has had the opportunity to develop his skills to create his artistic creations, especially using fabric collage techniques.

He has been in the fashion business for the past 23 years and has showcased some of his works in museums, such as the “New Museum” and at fashion shows in New York.

Of the various techniques he uses, fabric collage is what the designer enjoys the most. Julio Cesar has become a respected professional in fashion by creating his own techniques, making pieces that are strong, colorful, and intriguing. Quality and originality are elements that enhance his work and are apparent at first glance.

Over the years, Julio Cesar has produced sophisticated and creative works with other artists in the U.S., including Koos van den Akker, Sherry Bronfman, Lauren Hutton, Christian Francis Roth, Amy Matto, Julie Belafonte, Alyce Santoro, David Hecht, Sangam, Schaumburg Center, Desingtex, D’Addario, and Walter Telford.

Julio lives in the “air bridge” between Brazil and New York with his partner.

His love for music, books, movies, his travels, as well as the support from his family and friends, are his greatest sources of inspiration. For more information about designer Julio Cesar, visit the website www.juliocesarnyc.com
