Creating Balanced Goals – The Brasilians

Creating Balanced Goals

It is necessary to identify the different areas of life and, in each one, create a balanced goal, whether it is cultural, physical, financial, family, professional, or spiritual. And the goal must be yours, not someone else’s.Some people say they chose to do this or that in life because it was their parents’ wish. A parent may want their child to study medicine, but they can never impose that on them! Believe me: Your ability to decide about your life is an essential step towards achieving your ideals. Those who take on a goal that is not theirs are assuming their own unhappiness.

The goal must be personal. You have to be committed to it.

Being committed is much more than being involved. Those who are involved connect, participate. Those who are committed stop being afraid, wearing and sweating the shirt. The Size of the Goal

The goal must be big. Really big. So big that if you tell a friend, they won’t believe you are capable of achieving it.

When I went to study at Harvard University in 1976, I told a colleague that in three years I would be teaching cardiology in the United States. He laughed, as I didn’t even speak English very well. Exactly eight months after that conversation, I was giving my first lecture to four hundred cardiologists in Washington, D.C.

When my friend doubted, I knew I was on the right path! The Form of the Goal

The goal must be specific. Do you want money? Then specify how much money you want. Money, simply put, you already have in your pocket; so, that is not a goal.

— I want to have 50 thousand dollars in my bank account.

Now your mind understands, as the request is specific. The mind only understands the message when you say exactly what you want. Then, your subconscious processes your request and provides for its realization.DR. LAIR RIBEIRO
