Jewels of Brazil, a work on Brazilian jewelry – The Brasilians

Jewels of Brazil, a work on Brazilian jewelry

Eliane Soares launched the book “Jewels of Brazil”. The book offers a look at the diversity of styles, materials, concepts, and possibilities of contemporary jewelry . A true change in the history of jewelry.

The curator’s project brings together the main works of the most representative designers in this segment in Brazil. Names such as: Carol Bergocce, Reny Golcman, Mel Chung, Miriam Mamber, among many others.

The art jewelry depicted in the work pulses with this expressive variety, offering the public a vast interpretation, affections, and inspirations. These are jewels that evoke multiple aesthetic sensations, one of the essential effects of art.

The jewelry designer is an artist. Their art must be valued and disseminated.

Eliane Soares, an art and design curator, is dedicated to unveiling Brazilian designers and artists while caring for their art.

Her focus is on originality in the conception of works and creativity in the choice of materials for their execution. Walking side by side with the artist, helping them gain visibility for their creations in the commercial and artistic realms is undoubtedly her greatest purpose as a Curator.

She studied journalism and also dedicated herself to a degree in jewelry design and subsequent studies in Aesthetics and Art History. During this time, the desire to insert jewelry into the universe of art was already pulsating within her.

She opened her jewelry studio in São Paulo in the early 2000s. In 2006, she launched her own jewelry brand, LissBela.

In 2013, she was invited by designer Fabrizio Giannone to help him develop a sophisticated and contemporary collection focused on a younger audience: the result was Constelações, a collection that featured gems in their raw and natural state. Months later, she designed an authorial line, Lucky, based on a study of protection and beliefs. In no time, the brand won over its target audience, and as a consequence of this result, she became a columnist for the Oscar Freire Magazine, where she wrote about jewelry trends.

The next milestone in her journey was the partnership with the jewelry brand Grifith in 2014. Inspired by a visit she made to the Vatican, its paintings, frescoes, and sculptures in the Sistine Chapel, she created the Capela collection, which represents the most important virtues: Faith and Hope, cultivated since ancient times and which, nevertheless, remain essential in her life.

In 2016, Grifith created a collection in collaboration with the late artist Florian Raiss.
