Santos FC Holds Event in NY This Sunday – The Brasilians

New York was chosen for another event of the “Santos do Mundo” campaign, which aims to internationalize the Club’s brand. On Sunday, October 16, the Pelé Soccer Store, located in Times Square, will start selling official Santos FC jerseys. On this occasion, a retro jersey will also be presented, in homage to the friendly match that Peixe played against Cosmos on March 13, 1980, at Vila Belmiro. The piece will be sold starting in November of this year.

There will be no shortage of attractions to mark the date. Former player and eternal Menino da Vila, Juary, who was at Pelé’s farewell match in New York, will hold a signing session. The mascot Baleinha will also be present, along with the distribution of gifts for those who attend wearing Santos FC jerseys and the sale of jerseys from the Club’s 2022 collection.

New York is the city of the last team where the greatest athlete of all time played, the New York Cosmos, where Pelé definitively ended his career in a friendly match with Santos FC on October 1, 1977. The King played one half for each team and scored a goal for the American side. There were 106 matches and 64 goals in the Cosmos jersey, which signed him with the aim of popularizing soccer in the United States.

Entry to the event is free and will last from 4 PM to 7 PM. The Pelé Soccer Store is located at Times Square, 1560, on Broadway, in New York.
