Disney-Style Park to Be Built in Oklahoma – The Brasilians

Rumors are constantly circulating about the potential relocation of Walt Disney World out of Florida due to the political disagreement between Disney and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. However, this is unlikely to happen.

As Florida remains the theme park capital of the country, other states are trying to enter the market by creating their own versions of vacation destinations. Oklahoma is the latest to announce a new Disney-style park.

A new amusement park with size and amenities comparable to Disney World is coming to Oklahoma.

The $2 billion theme park, American Heartland Theme Park and Resort, is being proposed as a 1,000-acre resort destination that is expected to attract around 5 million visitors per year, the park said in a press release issued on Wednesday (19). The design team for the project is made up of over 20 former park builders from Walt Disney World and Walt Disney Imagineers.

American Heartland will be located on Route 66 and will feature a large-scale RV space, a world-class theme park, a 300-room hotel, and a modern indoor water park.

“We are excited to make Oklahoma the home of American Heartland Theme Park and Resort,” said American Heartland CEO Larry Wilhite in the press release. “Oklahoma is an attractive location for a family entertainment destination. The state’s business-friendly approach and innovative partnership efforts have helped make this possible. We look forward to bringing unforgettable generational experiences to Oklahoma.”

American Heartland is scheduled to be built in phases, with the RV park expected to be completed in spring 2025, followed by the theme park in 2026. The project is being developed by American Heartland, an affiliate of Manson Entertainment Group, a company based in Branson, Missouri.
