Poll: 62% Reject How Biden Is Handling Immigration

Throughout his presidency, Joe Biden has struggled with the increase of immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border, with members of both parties seeking solutions to the crisis.

Meanwhile, Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott has already transported hundreds of immigrants to Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York, states led by Democrats, as a form of protest against what conservative Republicans have long claimed to be an enormous cost that border states have to bear.

Joseph Biden – who last week launched a program granting temporary legal status to hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan immigrants who have already entered the United States – continues to receive low ratings from voters when it comes to immigration.

In a recently released poll by the Washington Post-ABC News, only 23% of registered voters approved of how Biden is handling immigration at the southern border, compared to 62% of respondents who disapproved.

In February, 28% approved of how Biden was dealing with immigration, compared to 59% of respondents who disapproved, reflecting the ongoing struggles of the current administration on the issue.

And it’s not just Republicans who are dissatisfied with the government over immigration. Last year, the relationship between Biden and New York City Mayor Eric Adams cooled as the city had to bear enormous costs to shelter and feed a flow of about 110,000 immigrants arriving in the city from the southern part of the country.

Adams said earlier this month that the unforeseen expenses of the migration crisis could cost the city $12 billion over three fiscal years.

The Democratic mayor recently made national headlines when he told participants at a City Council meeting in Manhattan that the migration crisis will “destroy” the city.

“Let me tell you something, New Yorkers, never in my life have I had a problem for which I didn’t see an end – I don’t see an end to this,” he said.
