Six people died when a tourist helicopter crashed on Thursday (10) into the Hudson River, near Jersey City, New Jersey, opposite Manhattan, New York.

Agustín Escobar, executive director of rail infrastructure at technology company Siemens, his three children and his wife were pulled from the icy river, but none survived, a police official said. The pilot also died.

A video of the accident shows the helicopter falling and hitting the water at high speed. The helicopter was a Bell 206 operated by New York Helicopter, which offers tourist flights for hundreds of dollars per flight. The company’s executive director said he did not know what had happened to the aircraft, which was rented from a company in Louisiana.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, said New York City Police Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch.
