The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a consular alert on Saturday (28) advising Brazilians to avoid travel to 11 Middle Eastern countries, following the military escalation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
According to the statement, the measure was adopted “in light of the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East”.
The recommendation is for citizens not to travel to:
• Iran;
• Israel;
• Qatar;
• Kuwait;
• United Arab Emirates;
• Bahrain;
• Jordan;
• Iraq;
• Lebanon;
• Palestine;
• Syria.
Recommendations
For Brazilians already in these countries, Itamaraty recommends redoubled attention and strict compliance with local authorities’ guidelines.
In case of bombings or airstrikes, the advice is to seek the nearest shelter immediately. Those on the street should head to subway stations, overpasses, or underground parking lots. In residences, the recommendation is to stay in interior rooms, with at least two walls between the person and the outside of the building, keeping doors and windows closed.
The ministry also advises avoiding staying in line of sight of the sky, prioritizing more internal areas of the structure, and seeking shelter before using messaging apps or making phone calls. Another recommendation is to keep a water reserve, filling bathtubs or large containers.
General guidelines include avoiding crowds and protests, following official channels of Brazilian embassies, monitoring local media, and ensuring travel documents have at least six months validity. In case of flight cancellations, the citizen should contact the airline for rescheduling.
According to Itamaraty, consular emergency situations are those involving immediate risk to the life, safety, or dignity of Brazilian citizens abroad.

Official Condemnation
The Brazilian government also condemned the attacks against Iran, classifying the offensive as a factor aggravating regional instability and a risk to peace in the Middle East.
The operation was announced by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and involved Israel’s participation. Iran stated that the action violated its sovereignty and initiated retaliations against targets in the region.
