Liniker Wins Three Awards and Shines at the 2025 Grammy Awards

The singer received awards in categories related to the Portuguese language. The album Caju was chosen as the best contemporary pop album and best urban performance.

She was also honored for the song “Veludo Marrom”, selected as the best song in Portuguese. Upon receiving the best song award, Liniker spoke about the difficulties of being a trans woman in Brazil.

“I have been writing since I was 16 years old. Writing and poetry have been my greatest form of existence. It’s where I find myself and where I celebrate the many things I experience. Being a travesti composer in a Brazil that kills us is extremely difficult. So, may our story be told and celebrated more and more, as it is today,” she stated.
