Donald Trump Takes Office as 47th President

In a speech lasting about 30 minutes, Donald Trump delivered his first address as the new president of the United States on Monday (20). He reaffirmed his intention to reclaim the Panama Canal and combat illegal immigration in the country. The Gulf of Mexico, Trump reiterated, will be renamed the Gulf of America.

The president stated that he will declare a national energy emergency to significantly increase the production of unsustainable energy sources, particularly oil and gas, securing the country’s strategic reserves and providing energy for American industries. He also promised to revoke environmental obligations favoring electric vehicles to maintain commitments with automakers using combustion engines.

Trump reiterated that, to protect American workers, he intends to tax imported goods from other countries. He repeated some of his positions against the so-called gender ideology, stating that “there are only two genders: male and female,” and that he will “end the policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender, promoting a merit-based society, without seeing color.”Illegal Immigration

“All illegal entry will be immediately blocked, and we will begin the process of returning millions of illegal immigrants to their home countries. We will reinstate the ‘stay in Mexico’ policy and implement the law to arrest and deport. Troops will be sent south to hinder the entry of people into our country. Additionally, I will designate the [drug] cartels as international terrorist organizations,” the president said.

Trump added that he will reinstate a 1708 law regarding immigrants, allowing his administration to use all public security forces to “eliminate gangs” involved in crimes in American cities and neighborhoods. “As Commander-in-Chief, there is no greater responsibility than defending our country from threats and invasions. I will do this at a level never seen before in our country,” he said, mentioning that he will soon change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.Powerful and Respected

The new president stated that he will make the United States return to its place as the most powerful and respected nation in the world. “We will have the greatest military strength the world has ever seen,” he asserted.

Trump reminded the audience that the Panama Canal was an American project gifted to Panama, at the cost of 38,000 lives lost during its construction. “After that, we were treated cruelly after offering this gift that should never have been given. The spirit of this gift was completely violated, with tariffs imposed on American ships. We were not treated fairly, especially by China, which operates the canal. That is why we are reclaiming it,” he promised.

“My message today is that the time has come, once again, to act with courage, vigor, and vitality of the greatest nations in history,” he added.Energy

Trump announced that he will declare a national energy emergency to reduce prices and assist the country’s industrial sectors, as well as replenish strategic oil reserves.

“We will again be an industrial nation, with more oil and gas than any other country. We will reduce prices and replenish our strategic reserves. And we will export our energy. We will again be a wealthy nation with black gold beneath our feet,” he said.

“And we will end the green deals. We will revoke obligations on electric vehicles, saving our automotive industry and maintaining our commitments to our automakers,” he added.

The president promised to soon reform the trade system “to protect American workers and families. Therefore, instead of taxing our citizens, we will impose tariffs on other countries.”Golden Age

“The golden age of the United States begins now. From now on, our country will flourish and be respected. We will be envied by all, and we will not allow anyone to take advantage of us. I will put America first,” he stated.

According to Trump, the U.S. is facing a crisis of confidence “after a corrupt and radical establishment, where the pillars have been broken, making it difficult to deal with even simple crises,” referring to problems like the fire that devastated Los Angeles. He also criticized the healthcare system, which he said does not function properly in disaster situations, and the educational system “that makes our students hate our country.”

“But everything will change quickly starting today,” Trump said. “My life was saved to make America great again,” he added, recalling the assassination attempt against him during the election campaign.
