The Brazilian Music Foundation is celebrating its 10th Anniversary on May 9, 2024, at 8:30 PM, at The National Opera Center in New York, presenting a concert titled: Brazilian Rhythms and Styles “A Crossover from Classical to Popular Music.”
With the help of dedicated musicians from around the world who share their art to bring the best of Brazilian music and culture, the organization has been able to present many shows, workshops, concerts, and festivals in New York, where it is based.About the concert
The concert highlights the richness and variety of Brazilian rhythms. It will traverse the history of Brazilian musical styles, showcasing the diversity of tones, timbres, sounds, and musical colors. The history will be brought to life by a select group of virtuosic musicians.
The chosen repertoire will present the diversity of sounds from each era, featuring the work of various musicians who have been part of the history of Brazilian music. From lundu to MPB, it will showcase musical hits from artists such as: Chiquinha Gonzaga, Ernesto Nazareth, Villa Lobos, Francisco Mignone, Donga, Ary Barroso, Cartola, Dorival Caymmi, Tom Jobim, Zequinha de Abreu, Nelson Cavaquinho, João Gilberto, Luiz Gonzaga, and more…
From classical sounds to profound popular lyrics, attendees will delight in hearing some famous songs that have touched the lives of so many people around the world.
