The league of samba schools in Rio, LIESA, on Monday, December 5, began selling tickets for the parades of the highest-ranked samba schools in February 2023. Purchases can be made on the Total Acesso website.
It is the first time that paper tickets are not available for the grandstands and boxes. Customers must download the Rio Carnaval app to access their tickets to enter the Sambódromo in January.
The special group — featuring the main samba schools in the city — will parade for two days. The first night of parades starts at 9:30 PM on February 19 (Sunday) with Império Serrano and ends in the early hours of February 20 (Monday) with Mangueira. On the same day, Grande Rio, Mocidade, Unidos da Tijuca, and Salgueiro will also parade.
The second night (February 20, Monday) begins with Paraíso do Tuiuti (9:30 PM), followed by Portela, Vila Isabel, Imperatriz, Beija-Flor, and Viradouro.
To watch the parades on these two days, ticket prices range from R$ 230 in Sector 12 (dispersal area) to R$ 300 in the special grandstands of Sectors 6–8 (central section). Students, seniors, teachers, and people with disabilities pay half-price.
The top six runners-up from next year’s Carnival will return to the Sambódromo on February 25 (Saturday). For this day, prices range from R$ 160 to 180. Half-price tickets are also available.
