One of the most famous attractions in Rio de Janeiro, the Sugarloaf Cable Car celebrated its 110th anniversary in October. Since its inception, it has welcomed approximately 50 million visitors and is the oldest operating cable car in the world.
Located in an important environmental conservation area, between two mountains covered by the Atlantic Forest, the Sugarloaf Park has an initial stretch that connects Praia Vermelha to Morro da Urca, spanning 528 meters with a height of 227 meters. Another 750 meters separate Morro da Urca from Sugarloaf Mountain, with the highest point reaching 396 meters above sea level.
The attraction receives a new song as a gift, composed by Bossa Nova icon Roberto Menescal, in partnership with singer Cris Delanno and Alex Moreira. Titled “O Bondinho,” the song was launched during the performance of Roberto Menescal and Cris Delanno at the festivities held to celebrate the date.
