Slicebooks and Minha Biblioteca Partnership – The Brasilians

Slicebooks and Minha Biblioteca Partnership

Slicebooks, an innovative provider of publishing tools and white label stores, announced an agreement to expand its partnership with Minha Biblioteca in Brazil through the licensing of its Slicebooks source code. Slicebooks will also provide managed services and support for custom development. By licensing the code, Minha Biblioteca will be able to develop new features specific to the Brazilian market and give Brazilian publishers the ability to sell e-book content in chunks such as chapters & articles, and create curated course packages by mixing & matching microcontent.

Minha Biblioteca is a consortium formed by the four leading academic book publishers in Brazil – Group A, Gen Group – Atlas, Manole, and Saraiva. The retail site, loja.pastadoprofessor.com.br, will launch over 2,500 e-books and nearly 60,000 chapters covering quality legal, medical, technical, and scientific content. All content is available by the whole book and by chapter, and with the integrated “Remixer,” users can drag and drop content to create their own custom e-book packages.

The Slicebooks publishing platform offers tools such as a flexible content management system, along with the eBook Slicer, Remixer, and Micro Store Widgets, all designed to help publishers reuse content and sell directly to consumers. “We first launched a white label version of the Slicebooks platform in 2016, called loja.pastadoprofessor.com.br,” said Richardt Rocha Feller, CEO of Minha Biblioteca.

“We appreciate how easy Slicebooks makes it to acquire content by chapter, as well as access to custom course packages created by teachers, all while respecting copyright. Now, by licensing the code, we have much more flexibility moving forward in terms of adding features that our Brazilian customers are asking for, and also easily expanding our efforts beyond academia, targeting new markets such as corporate.”
