NaturaBrasil Wins Sustainability Award – The Brasilians

NaturaBrasil Wins Sustainability Award

NaturaBrasil has been named the winner of the Beauty Insider Excellence in Sustainability Award by Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW). The award recognizes a beauty brand that seeks to reduce its environmental impact and has made progress towards sustainability goals across multiple facets of its business.The criteria for this award are based on the four science-based sustainability principles promoted by the international network of non-profit organizations, The Natural Step. Candidates must demonstrate measurable changes implemented over the past three years.

How a brand helps reduce the use of fossil fuels and extracted materials;

How a brand reduces the introduction of non-biodegradable materials into the environment;

How a brand helps reduce the loss or damage to natural resources;

How a brand demonstrates consideration for the needs and rights of people, within the company, in the supply chain, and in the communities where it operates.

“Natura strongly believes in the transformative power of the beauty industry, using technology and network innovation to develop solutions that promote environmental and social change. We encourage people to turn business into an opportunity to create a positive impact in four areas: economic, social, environmental, and cultural,” says Roger Schmid, Global Sustainability Consultant at NaturaBrasil.

The brand is known for the quality of its beauty products and its commitment to transparency, sustainability, and promoting well-being. What started in 1969 as a single store in São Paulo has grown to become the largest beauty brand in Brazil and an important force in beauty across Latin America. It expanded into the U.S. market in 2017.
