The U.S. Embassy announced that applications for the 17th annual Young Ambassadors Program, a three-week exchange program in the United States, are open until August 12. Public high school students aged 15 to 18, with leadership profiles and volunteer service in their communities, outstanding academic performance, and a good level of English, are invited to apply for the program.
Since 2003, 572 Brazilians have benefited from the program. The U.S. Embassy’s partners in this initiative include the National Council of State Secretaries of Education (CONSED), State Departments of Education, U.S.-Brazil Binational Centers, as well as American companies FedEx, MSD, and IBM. The Movement Everyone for Education and Canal Futura also support this initiative. Currently, the Young Ambassadors Program is implemented in all countries of Latin America and also includes a reverse program for U.S. high school students to travel abroad.
