The Graduate Student Agreement Program (PEC-PG) has begun accepting applications from students from developing countries for full doctoral scholarships at public or private higher education institutions in Brazil.
According to the announcement published by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), up to one hundred scholarships will be granted. Applications must be submitted by September 15 on the Capes website.
To participate in the selection process, candidates must: be a citizen of a developing country with which Brazil has an educational, cultural, or scientific & technological cooperation agreement; not be a Brazilian citizen; have an undergraduate or master’s degree, but not a doctorate.
Students must also present a letter of acceptance issued by the institution of interest, prove proficiency in the Portuguese language, and have an updated curriculum in Portuguese on the CNPq Lattes Platform.
The selected candidates will receive a doctoral scholarship, including a round-trip airfare to the capital of their country of origin or residence. The selection results are expected on November 15, and academic activities will begin in February 2018.
