Tati Vitsic was born in Rio de Janeiro in April 1976. The daughter of a civil engineer and a plastic artist, she showed
her talent for the arts from an early age. At the age of 10, she began taking drawing classes, and by 13, she was already participating in art salons for adults, such as the one at the Naval Club. Since then, she has participated in various art salons and has won 4 medals and other awards.
In 1994, she began her studies in Graphic Design at PUC-Rio. Two years later, she lived in New York, where she studied Illustration, Graphic Design, and Computer Graphics at the School of Visual Arts. In New York, she had the opportunity to study with renowned designer Milton Glaser and attend lectures with famous artists, such as illustrator Paul Davis.
Back in Brazil, she studied illustration and printmaking with artists Amador Perez and Tereza Miranda, and also took a course in design and children’s book illustration with illustrator Guto Lins. The technique she uses most in her art is dry pastel, but she also develops works in ink, graphite, colored pencils, and digital illustration.
Tati Vitsic graduated in 1999 and worked for several graphic design companies. A year later, she began working in web design, developing websites in HTML and Flash and specializing in this field. She also
studied Marketing at ESPM in Rio and, in 2002, began working at USA Network Brazil as a marketing assistant, being responsible for the channel’s website.
After several years working as a freelancer, Tati decided to return to New York in 2005 and start her international career as a designer. She worked at Alexander Interactive – an award-winning design agency in Manhattan – and developed work for clients such as: Citigroup, Ivanka Trump, Kaplan, Caché, Steiner Sports, PetCareRx, Action Envelope, etc. While working at “Ai”, she received an award from the IMA (Interactive Media Awards) for “Outstanding Achievement Award”, for being the designer responsible for the Caché Prom 2008 website.
Back in Rio de Janeiro in 2010, she launched a stationery and design company for special occasions called MERCI Designs (which is currently an
online business), and worked as a graphic designer at Petrobrás.
Returning to New York in May 2014, Tati completed a year-long intensive course in “Textile/Surface Design” at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and launched her printing brand Pommy New York.
