The Jaú National Park (AM) had a very special day! Over 2,000 tortoise hatchlings were released into a lake near the conservation unit. In total, more than 6,000 hatchlings from four typical Amazonian species were released: Amazon turtle, tracajá, irapuca, and
cabeçudo.
The activity, which is part of the Participatory Biodiversity Monitoring Project in Conservation Units at the Mouth of the Jaú River, involved more than 70 people, including children and educators from the Almerinda Malaquias Foundation (FAM), which works on environmental education with students from Novo Airão, volunteers, monitors, collaborators, and family members.
