With the crisis and uncertain future in Brazil, a large number of entrepreneurs are migrating to the Land of Uncle Sam, especially Florida. As a result, the number of Brazilian consultants in this area is also increasing. They migrate to the USA and offer services not only to Americans but mainly to Brazilian entrepreneurs.
One good example of this is the second edition of the event Jornada Empreendedora in Orlando, at Loews Sapphire Falls, Universal Resort, on July 3, 4, and 5, which aims to open new perspectives related to this market, offering participants lectures with experts in entrepreneurship and investments, both American and Brazilian.
According to press advisor Ana Penteado, the expectation is to receive around 1200 guests during the three days of the event. The main goal is to help internationalize brands and companies that wish to somehow migrate to the Land of Uncle Sam, generating new local businesses, exploring consulting opportunities with the most renowned professionals in the sector, and absorbing extensive content from those considered masters of entrepreneurship.
A good example of this is the consulting company Awee Business, created in São Paulo in 2016, which expanded to Florida, United States, two months ago with the goal of structuring as many businesses as possible with Brazilians living in America.
With simple language and low-cost values, Awee Business already serves several Brazilian clients living outside Brazil, and just this year has acquired five new clients currently residing in Canada, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.
According to founder Nany Martins (photo), the company grew twice as much in 2018 compared to 2017. “Our client base and revenue grew by 100%. For 2019, we hope to maintain the pace of 2018, doubling our service base and revenue.”
She chose Florida because about 90% of Brazilians who intend to start a business outside Brazil are in Florida, due to its climate being similar to that of Brazil.
Regarding the bureaucracy to open a business in America, Nany says it can be a shock for those used to Brazilian bureaucracy. In Florida, in a few days you can have your business operating with virtually zero bureaucracy (depending on the type of company, location, and whether any type of license is required due to regulated end activities).
It is possible to do it alone through the Florida Department of State website to register the two most common types of companies in the state of Florida: Limited Liability Company (LLC) and Corporation. All registration is done online at http://dos.myflorida.com/sunbiz/.
The biggest difficulty that Brazilians will encounter, according to Nany, is in the Business Plan, including feasibility, market analysis, competitive analysis, and calculating the financial resources needed for the business. This will not guarantee success, but it will increase the chances.
“Our initial investment was around $500 to $2,000. And within our projections, we expect to meet the target before the end of 2019. The format of our business allows us to enter companies and structure in detail, including training leaders. Increasing results in a shorter time. This makes us ‘desired’ by
Brazilian entrepreneurs in America.”
About the benefits that this expansion to Florida will bring to Awee, it is the possibility of getting to know the American market and expanding our purpose and business format. “Brazilians are naturally creative people with an entrepreneurial spirit. Once they obtain direction and strategy, they can move away from the indicators of companies that fail within the first two years and become part of successful companies,” she states.
She adds that regardless of where they intend to open a business, entrepreneurs need to keep in mind that without structuring the idea, expanding it into a business cannot advance and go far. Without projections, analyses, goals, and standardizations, no matter how small the company is, it becomes impossible to go far and maintain organic and healthy growth.
“What differentiates Brazilians from Americans is the prior structuring of the business. Americans first study, test, and only then put it into practice. A large part of Brazilians puts it into practice and sees what happens.”
Consulting can be done by areas or by projects, such as: business leverage strategies, strategic marketing for brand positioning and sales, finance, and all areas of production and people management. “We operate in various fronts, such as business structuring, analyzing the entrepreneur, and from this, we build and work, starting with the greatest deficiency and the most urgent. During the business structuring, we also work on the training of the entrepreneur, making them capable of managing the company, employees, partners, and personal life.”
Nany mentions that she specialized and gained prominence in the Brazilian market in consulting and advising for ‘influencers and youtubers’, turning Instagram into a channel in a company, with a source of income. Increasing engagement and audience.
Making a slight comparison of Brazilian versus foreign clients, Nany says that Brazilians usually act first and then see what happens, while foreigners are more conservative, first studying and analyzing before starting something.
