Rio Beyond Carnival – The Brasilians
, ,

The recent cancellation of the block parties, which represent the street Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, and the postponement of the parades at Marquês de Sapucaí, may disappoint tourists who were already packing their bags to enjoy the charms of the Marvelous City. However, despite the great importance that the Carnival festivities represent, undoubtedly one of the city’s main annual events, Rio de Janeiro goes far beyond that.

Our capital is a cosmopolitan, diverse city, with world-renowned tourist attractions such as Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain. Rio offers tourists countless cultural, artistic, and gastronomic options, a result of its multicultural background. In addition, the city boasts incomparable natural beauties, such as beaches, lagoons, and one of the largest urban forests in the world. During the Carnival holiday, Rio’s hotels promote their own parallel programming, which includes festivities and balls. Moreover, they have excellent international-standard infrastructure for gastronomy, entertainment, and leisure.

The Covid-19 pandemic is unfortunately still present worldwide, and Rio de Janeiro is no different. It is worth noting that the hospitality sector has been at the forefront, alongside municipal and state authorities, in defining and implementing prevention protocols in facilities focused on tourism activities. The entire reception structure remains very attentive to trends, scientific guidelines, and sanitary procedures.

It is important to emphasize that the Rio de Janeiro destination is mature and demonstrates responsibility in managing the fight against this pandemic. We have an excellent vaccination coverage, among the highest in the world. So, we are more than prepared to welcome our American visitors with the famous Carioca hospitality, filled with sunshine, swimming, caipirinhas, and samba!
