The Embassy and Consulates of the United States in Brazil, through the Regional English Language Office (RELO), in partnership with the +Unidos Group, are selecting 300 young people for the Access E2C 2024 program (English to Connect, Communicate, Catalyze), a course that promotes language teaching for the Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous population. Interested individuals must reside in Brazil, be between 18 and 40 years old, and have a basic knowledge of English. Applications are open until February 1st, at the link: https://www.maisunidos.org/inscricoes-access-e2c/.
The online classes, with a total of 210 hours, will be divided into six hours per week throughout 2024. In addition to synchronous classes, selected participants will engage in extracurricular activities and mentorship with specialized professionals. The goal of the course, aimed at the job market, is to develop the linguistic skills of participants, adding value to their careers.
“The Access E2C goes beyond teaching English. It is an initiative that enhances connections and learning for the job market and also for personal journeys. The partnership with the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in this project strengthens our desire to create inclusive educational opportunities,” comments Daniel Grynberg, executive director of the +Unidos Group.
The project is part of the Access program, which has been taking place globally since 2004 and is offered by the U.S. Department of State in over 86 countries. In Brazil, since 2008, it has already benefited more than 3,000 young people.
The 2024 edition is part of the celebration of 200 years of diplomatic relations between Brazil and the U.S. This celebration aims to highlight the diplomatic ties that have enabled mutually beneficial relationships between two of the world’s most diverse and prosperous democracies. Throughout 2024, a variety of cultural events, seminars, exchange programs, and joint initiatives will emphasize shared elements of the historical traditions of both nations.
