Argentina’s National Electoral Chamber (CNE) released the official results of the 2025 national legislative elections on Sunday (26), confirming an expressive victory for the ruling party La Libertad Avanza, which obtained 40.84% of the votes across the entire Argentine territory. The main opposition force, Fuerza Patria, got only 25%. The information comes from the C5N channel.
According to the CNE, the numbers reflect the tally of 96% of the polling stations. The officialism received broad support across the country, winning in 16 provinces, including Buenos Aires, where the ticket led by Diego Santilli (41.52%) beat Peronism (40.84%) — a symbolic result, since in the local elections held just over a month ago, Peronism had won by a 14-point margin.
The elections, which determine the composition of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, recorded participation below 70%, the lowest rate since the return to democracy in Argentina.
Chief of Staff Guillermo Francos highlighted that the vote represented “strong national backing for the government.” According to the official results, La Libertad Avanza won in Buenos Aires, CABA, Chubut, Corrientes, Córdoba, Entre Ríos, Jujuy, La Rioja, Mendoza, Misiones, Neuquén, Río Negro, Salta, San Luis, Santa Fe, and Tierra del Fuego.
On the other hand, Fuerza Patria came first in Catamarca, Formosa, La Pampa, San Juan, Santa Cruz, and Tucumán.
President Milei Says “the Era of a Free and Great Argentina Begins”
In an euphoric speech at the Hotel Libertador in Buenos Aires, Argentina’s President Javier Milei celebrated the victory of the La Libertad Avanza (LLA) coalition in Sunday’s legislative elections and previewed a new phase of transformations in the country. The information is from the Argentine channel C5N.
Milei stated that starting December 10, when the new deputies and senators take office, the government will drive “the most reformist Congress in Argentine history.” According to him, the ballot box result — with wins in 16 of the 24 districts — represents ratification of his government program and the start of a “new era” for the country.
“Today was a historic day. The Argentine people decided to leave behind 100 years of decadence. The construction of a great Argentina begins,” declared the president amid applause.
Milei Seeks New Political Support Base
The speech had a tone of celebration but also pragmatism. Milei invited the governors to join a dialogue table to discuss a new framework of political and economic agreements — a move seen as an attempt to ensure governability in the second half of his term.
“Beyond the usual misfits, there are dozens of deputies and senators for whom one plus one equals two. Now we can truly turn the bases of the May Pact into laws,” the president said.
With the new results, Milei’s party went from 37 to 101 deputies and from 6 to 20 senators, significantly expanding its parliamentary strength. According to the president, this majority will allow advancing structural reforms that had been blocked by Congress.
“Populism Never Again”
During the speech, Milei again criticized previous governments and praised the popular support received.
“The Argentines said enough to populism. Populism never again! Two out of every three Argentines do not want to go back to the past,” he declared. “Over the next two years, we must reaffirm the reformist path to consolidate growth and the takeoff of Argentina.”
The president also described the result as confirmation of the “2023 mandate,” highlighting that his government had “prevented Argentina’s collapse,” facing what he called a “minefield” left by previous administrations.
Libertarian Bunker and Presence of Allies
At the Hotel Libertador, Milei was accompanied by key figures from his government and the libertarian coalition: his sister Karina Milei, president of the LLA and general secretary of the Presidency; Chamber President Martín Menem; Economy Minister Luis Caputo; Infrastructure Minister Federico Sturzenegger; Human Capital Minister Sandra Pettovello; and newly appointed Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno.
Also attending were elected Senator Patricia Bullrich, advisor Santiago Caputo, spokesperson Manuel Adorni, and deputies Diego Santilli, Lilia Lemoine, and Cristian Ritondo, among other leaders and supporters.
With the strengthening of his base in Congress, Milei seeks to consolidate his agenda of economic deregulation and reducing the role of the state, promising to accelerate reforms after the boost obtained at the polls.
