According to a diagnosis made by the World Bank, the reforms implemented last year have allowed Brazil to advance 16 positions in the ranking of the 2019 Doing Business report.
This means that Brazil moved from the 125th to the 109th position. Furthermore, the country was recognized as the nation that implemented the highest number of reforms in Latin America. For the World Bank, four reforms were decisive: digital certificates for imports, improved access to credit, an online system for opening businesses, and an electronic system
for energy supply management.
“Governments have the enormous task of fostering an environment where entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises can thrive,” said World Bank President Jim Yong Kim (photo). According to him, without solid and efficient commercial regulations, there is no chance of ending extreme poverty and driving prosperity.
